How the license works
Some advanced FiveGuardian5 features are premium modules enabled through a license issued by FiveGuardian5. Each client has its own license, which defines:
- The included modules.
- The expiration date.
- The maximum number of covered devices.
The core service features (secure connection, DNS filtering, policies, groups, posture checks, networks and routes, DNS, built-in SSH, users and Audit Events) do not depend on premium modules.
Premium modules
| Module | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Integrations › Identity Provider Sync | Syncs users and groups from your directory: Google Workspace, Azure AD/Entra ID, Okta, generic SCIM or JumpCloud. |
| Integrations › Event Streaming | Sends activity events to Datadog, Amazon S3, Amazon Firehose or a generic HTTP destination. |
| Integrations › EDR | Uses device security status from CrowdStrike, Intune, SentinelOne, Huntress or FleetDM as an access condition. |
| Activity › Traffic Events | Shows metadata of network connections between devices and resources. |
| Settings › Notifications | Alerts about relevant network events. |
For details on each integration, see Integrations.
Current status
We want to be transparent about what is already available:
- Available: license management and Event Streaming configuration.
- Being rolled out: actual delivery of Event Streaming events, Traffic Events, EDR checks and identity provider sync. Contact Support for availability.
What happens when the license expires
If the license expires, premium modules become read-only: you can see their configuration but cannot change it or use their active functions. No data is deleted. When the license is renewed, the modules work again with the configuration they had.
License expiration does not affect the core protection of devices or users' connectivity. If you reach your license's device limit, check with the FiveGuardian5 support team before registering new devices.
Notifications
Settings › Notifications lets you configure alerts about relevant network events. It is part of the premium modules; contact Support for availability. Once active, choose recipients who can act on the alerts and avoid sending them to broad lists.
